My name is Dan Leibowitz, founder of EdTherapy Education Services and a certified teacher with advanced degrees in general and special education. For more than ten years I have worked with a wide range of students and families as an educational support specialist in private practice and in Bay Area independent schools.
My educational philosophy is rooted in helping individuals of all ages to learn to apply digital and visual learning tools so they can work through challenging academic and organizational tasks. I work with students in elementary school through college, as well as adults, but specialize in working with elementary and middle school students. My lengthy experience in high schools suggests that the earlier an effective intervention can be identified and implemented, the greater the likelihood of enabling timely changes that really make a difference -in school and in life. By focusing on students during this stage of development, I hope to mitigate challenges which, during adolescence can be more difficult to manage.
Any student who is open to experimenting with new and different methods of using a computer and other hands-on tools to overcome his or her academic and organizational difficulties can be a good fit for my services. In this website you will find further information about my techniques, successes, workshops and how I support students of all ages in working through challenging tasks to the best of their abilities.
This new website is under development so please check back again soon for updates.
